I have only recently started developing MAXScript. This first came about when we started our group projects at University. We’re using CryEngine to create a realistic 3D environment and having to create all the content and export it all to engine. I noticed that there where many minor tasks that we were repeating over and over again and as we’re working to a deadline I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the time taken to do them. After some research I found that using scripts you can do these minor tasks with the push of a button. After finding this out I decided to take it upon myself to create a small toolbar for my group to use to negate these actives.
One of the first scripts I wrote was to setup max’s units and grid size to match that of CryEngine. This came about when I found people where forgetting to do so when starting modelling which gave us scaling issues when importing those assets into engine.
